I posted this picture on Instagram
earlier this week:
I have finally gotten my hands on some newer bead shapes: Diamonduo beads, Crescent beads and Demi Rounds and I am really excited to work with them!
For anyone who doesn't know:
- Diamonduo beads are two-hole pressed glass beads made in the Czech Republic. They have a diamond shape and measure 5x8mm.
- Crescent beads are also Czech two-holed pressed glass beads but have a crescent moon shape and measure 3x10mm.
- Demi Rounds are thinner versions of traditional round seed beads with the same hole size and diameter. These precisely cut seed beads are produced for the Japanese Toho brand.
I have so many ideas for these beads that I'm not even sure where to start. Has that ever happened to you? Have you ever sat down to bead and you're so overwhelmed that you can't seem to get anything done? Such is the life of a beading pattern designer, I suppose. (The drama!)
I had to restrain myself and I didn't get them in every colour possible. I'll be sure to post and keep you up-to-date with my progress using these beads.
If you have made jewelry using any of the beads I mentioned in this post, be sure to snap a pic of it and tag me on Instagram, Twitter or share it on Facebook!
