Once again, I have stumbled across a new stitch (well it's new to me!). This one is called the Pondo Stitch, also known as the African Circle Stitch.
At first glance, a strip of Pondo weave resembles Right Angle Weave but the thread paths of these two stitches are very different. Pondo stitch results in a picot fringe along the edges of the work.
